ICT Resources in Teaching and Learning

Information and Communication Technology or “ICT,” includes products that store, process, transmit, convert, duplicate, or receive electronic information. Electronic textbooks, instructional software, email, chat, and distance learning programs etc. ICT has an important prominent role in knowledge due to its changeable ability and its capability to making relationship among students. The successful integration of ICT into the learning environment will depend on the ability of teachers to structure learning in new ways, to merge technology appropriately with a pedagogy, develop socially active classrooms, and encourage co-operative interaction and collaborative learning and group work. For many, this requires a different set of skills from those they currently possess (UNESCO ICT Competency Framework for Teachers).

ICT isn’t just a tool to help students develop and learn, it can also help to improve achievement levels, inspire creative thinking and encourage the development of skills that will prove invaluable in the real world. It allows students to explore, observe, engage, solve problems and make exciting discoveries for themselves. It’s equally as important for teachers too. It stimulates collaboration and interaction amongst peers and also between students and teachers. It also encourages them to engage confidently in imaginative learning and makes teaching and learning more effective and fun for everyone involved. Fundamentally, it’s a central tool that supports teaching and learning at all stages of education and across all areas of the curriculum. We live in a world consumed by technology: a world that provides incredible opportunities for young students who are just setting out on their educational journey.

How technology helps measure student learning

The influence of technology can be seen in every area of our lives; however, the impact of technology on education has been the most noticeable in recent years. Schools are incorporating more and more technology into the classroom to keep up with technological advances in hopes of preparing students for the rapidly changing world of technology.

One of the most significant benefits of using technology in education is putting students’ knowledge and skills into action. Students earn beneficial knowledge through online classes and interactions with their teachers and other peer students. However, it is very important to put these new skills into practice and action.

Technology enables students to put their earned knowledge into practice through different applications. The incorporation of technology into the classroom helps teachers to easily assign various tasks and assignments that allow students to put their knowledge and experience into action and develop the ability to apply their knowledge to create a solution to a situation, problem, or event.

Educational technology can foster collaboration. Not only can teachers engage with students during lessons, but students can also communicate with each other. Through online lessons and learning games, students get to work together to solve problems. In collaborative activities, students can share their thoughts and ideas and support each other. At the same time, technology enables one-on-one interaction with teachers. Students can ask classroom-related questions and seek additional help on difficult-to-understand subject matter. At home, students can upload their homework, and teachers can access and view completed assignments using their laptops
