BLENDED LEARNING

What is blended Learning?

Blended learning is a learning approach formed with the combination of the different learning environments and activity types for a certain group with the addition of electronic sources to face-to-face learning. It is a formal educational program in which a student learns at least in part through online delivery of instruction and content, with some element of student control over time, place, path, and pace, and at least in part in a supervised brick and -mortar place away from home. For example, a student might attend in a real-world classroom setting and then supplement the lesson plan by completing online multimedia coursework.

What are the blended learning models? How can It benefit?

1- Flipped classroom

The flipped classroom model is a teaching approach in which students engage with new individuals at home to use classroom time to expand upon the topic under the guidance of the teacher. In this model, students are introduced to a new topic or asked to understand new learning material ahead of the lesson, typically through online videos and content. However, the introduction of new material may also be achieved through articles, independent research, online discussion with other students, etc. During the lesson itself, the teacher facilitates further exploration of the topic through classroom-based discussion. problem-solving activities, and more meaningful learning opportunities. This means students attend the lesson with a base understanding and leave with an advanced understanding.

2-Individual Rotation Model

The Individual Rotation model allows students to rotate through stations on individual schedules set by a teacher or software algorithm. Unlike other rotation models, students do not necessarily rotate every station, they rotate only to the activities scheduled on their playlists. For example, if you were to walk into a classroom doing the Individual Rotation, it might look a lot like a Station Rotation model. The difference, however, is in the student's experience. Each student's learning agenda is tailored every day to his or her individual needs, based on his or her performance ( which is typically recorded by an online learning platform) the previous day.

3- Enriched Virtual Model

The Enriched Virtual model allows learners to set the pace of their learning, and complete most of their coursework virtually. Learners are allowed to attend webinars with the instructor at their convenience, but ultimately, it's the learner that determines how much of their learning includes live interaction with the instructor, The enriched virtual learning model can be great for self-motivated learners that appreciate autonomous learning. In having the option to interface with the instructor, they enjoy the balance between feeling supported, without feeling hindered by mandatory live instruction at a set date and time.

4- Flex Model

The Flex Learning Model offers learners the opportunity to direct their learning according to what works best for them. They are able to jump between synchronous and asynchronous instruction, individual assignments, and even group learning. Instructors are available to answer questions and provide feedback, but it's up to each participant how and when they utilize instructors' resources.
In the flex model, online instruction is the primary mode of accessing content and materials, with additional support from the teacher face-to-face. Teachers share learning activities with students who access them at their own pace, and then teachers use data to intervene in real time. This model is dependent on self-directed learning and allows for a fluid schedule that is more flexible than other models as online learning makes up the bulk of students' direct instruction. 5- A La Carte Model

The ' A La Carte' model of learning is one of the most talked about teaching models in recent times. The A La Carte model of teaching is also considered to be an amazing way of learning for all students out there. Face-to-face training is combined with an elective online course chosen by the learner based on their interests or needs in the  A la Carte format. As a result, a trainer can broaden the range of study tools available to students, increasing their motivation and eventually, personalizing their learning path. The model is a hybrid learning approach that allows students to take an online course in addition to the main curriculum, giving them more scheduling flexibility. Learners can be empowered by taking care of their own education, which will increase their interest in the subject.
